Dot's Story...

Your money contributes towards funding our life-changing services such as Live at Home, Music Therapy and Chaplaincy that make a huge difference to older people like Dot.

Before visiting her local Live at Home Scheme in East Hampshire, Dot Telling (pictured centre) saw very few people during the week - but it wasn't until she attended that she realised quite how lonely she was. Now, Dot has developed many new friendships through Live at Home and the scheme enables her to maintain that regular social contact.

Discussing how Live at Home has changed Dot's life, she said: “It’s just wonderful, so jolly. It gets you out and mixing with people, so you’re not sitting indoors by yourself. I do see my family once a week but there’s a lot of time left over.

“We’ve been to pub meals, museums and out to Southsea. I don’t know how the manager does it. She’s so bright and cheerful.

“It’s been lovely for me and made such a difference. I really look forward to going.”

With your support, we can reduce loneliness in later life for even more isolated older people like Dot.
