Beyond the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is something special. 18 miles wide and over a mile deep, we’ll take you on a trip to see some of the most awe-inspiring sights of your life as you help to tackle loneliness for our older generation

The Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, boasts one of the oldest and most majestic landscapes on earth.

We will trek across open desert paths, past ancient ruins and into scenic canyons with dramatic rock formations through the spiritual heart of the Navajo nation . After our hike throughout the valley's spectacular landscape we'll have a traditional Navajo dinner and learn more about Navajo culture around the campfire.

Finish your adventure with a celebration in Las Vegas, an energetic city that couldn’t provide a sharper contrast to the natural beauty you have been immersed in!

Join the Best Trekking Team For Ages and support us on our mission to end loneliness and isolation for older people living across the UK.

2

£50 could train a volunteer befriender for an isolated older person, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation in their own home.

3

£180 could fund a Music Therapist for a day, working to reduce anxiety in four 1:1 sessions and one group session.

Gift Aid

If you're a UK tax payer you can Gift Aid your donations, making them worth 25% more to us, at no extra cost to you.

We can claim back the tax you have paid on your donation (25p for every £1 you donate) through Gift Aid.

This additional income really does make a big difference, so please don't forget to Gift Aid donations if you are a UK tax payer.

If you are a higher-rate tax payer you can also claim additional tax relief. For higher rate tax payers (paying tax at 40%) this works out as 25p for every £1 you donate and for the highest rate tax payers (paying tax at 50%) this works out as 37.5p for every £1 you donate.

Fundraising online

Creating a fundraising page online can massively boost your sponsorship. Start by uploading a photo, sharing your reasons for fundraising and setting yourself a target.

A large opening donation can have an impact on the average amount the rest of your supporters donate - so ask a generous friend or family member to get things going!

Matched funding

Some companies have a match-funding scheme which could double the amount you raise. Speak to your employer to see if you could take advantage of this.
