The Edinburgh Marathon Festival is now in its 16th year and takes place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2018. This ever-growing festival of running is now a major event in the Scottish sporting calendar. Starting in Edinburgh, the course heads out through East Lothian offering stunning views and an unforgettable running experience.
The full weekend of events attracts around 30,000 runners, with thousands more lining the course to support. There are nine races on offer over two days including the marathon, half marathon, team relay, 10k, 5k and junior races. By fundraising for Best For Ages, you are helping to connect older people in communities that care. Every penny of your donation will go further to reduce loneliness and isolation across the UK as well as funding award-winning music therapy in our dementia care homes. £6 could help us deliver a week's Telebuddies service, providing a regular phone call to check on five isolated older people living alone.
£50 could train a volunteer befriender for an isolated older person, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation in their own home.
£180 could fund a Music Therapist for a day, working to reduce anxiety in four 1:1 sessions and one group session.
